About Adecyn Homes

Supporting the learning & development of vulnerable young people

Our History

We found through foster care we were able to have positive impacts of the children and young people’s lives and help build a brighter future, however, the issue was that we could one change 1 to 2 lives at a time. The Organisation then took the leap into residential care as it opened its first home in 2010, using the phrase “Our Passion is our Strength”, where from the Senior Management to RCP’s, all are involved in helping to shape the lives of the children and young people; and the Organisation has never looked back.

Our mission

Adecyn Homes revolves around a concept in which the Organisation’s Senior Management and Registered Managers are completely invested in aiding and supporting its Homes, the team members and our children and young people to ensure that the best care, welfare, safety, and security is provided.

We work closely with local authorities, agencies and professional bodies which has helped us develop outstanding knowledge of the childcare legislation, underpinning the core principals of the 9 Quality Standards to ensure all our homes are meeting the needs of all the children and young people, but ensuring we are doing this in an “Outstanding” way.

Our values

We operate with honesty and integrity—two of our key founding principles here at Adecyn. These traits combined with our energy, passion, enthusiasm, and unrivalled knowledge, has earned us a reputation for professionalism and delivery care at the highest level. By employing a balanced mix of intellect and instinct, we are able to spot talent and transferable skills which enables us to offer opportunities that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Why choose us?

We are a family orientated business, who initially started off as foster carers in 2004, where we witnessed how vulnerable children and young people can thrive when provided with the care, support, and safety, but also how they can fail when the support is taking away when they leave our care.

After discussing this as a family and receiving the approval from professionals, we decided that opening a residential home for children and young people was a way we could make a greater change in a system that needed reforming. Initially called Acorn Homes, our residential journey began in 2010. After an 8-year journey, Acorn Homes prided itself on giving children and young people the care that they deserve, and in 2018, after careful consideration, we decided to rebrand Acorn Homes to Adecyn Homes, where our journey still continues.

Adecyn Homes provides a caring and nurturing environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and we can also accommodate children and young people that have a diagnosis of mild learning difficulties such as ADHD and Autism.

This is being achieved by empowering and enabling effective working practice within the homes, through ongoing training, open communication channels, personal & professional development plans and collegiate support. In addition, we work with multiple agencies and provide our children and young people with care through a therapeutic approach.
